Taxi Ranks in Dublin City

There are regular 24-hour taxi ranks at 79 locations throughout the city centre and city suburbs, with some of these served by an additional 23 feeder ranks.   These ranks accommodate varying numbers of taxis. They are listed in street alphabetical order in Schedule 1 of the attached Bye-Laws.

The new Bye-Laws designated a number of locations to operate as taxi ranks in the evening and night time from 8.00p.m. to 6.00a.m. leaving the spaces free for bus lanes, cycle tracks or loading bays during the day. These ranks are located as follows:

• Dame Street, near the junction with Fownes Street Upper, facing towards College Green
• Dame Street, near City Hall, facing towards Christchurch
• Dawson Street, opposite the Mansion House 
• Merrion Row, near St. Stephen’s Green
• St. Andrew Street, outside the Post Office
• Talbot Street, on the O’Connell Street side of the railway bridge
